Re-Discover Project

Giving Gear a Second Life

At Kuma, sustainability isn’t a buzzword: it’s part of who we are. We believe in doing more, not just in making less. That’s why we launched our Re-Discover Project, a circular initiative designed to give new purpose to materials that might otherwise be discarded.

Re-Discover Project

A Journey of Circularity

Through a meaningful collaboration with Earth Warrior, we’re repurposing returned KUMA gear, from chairs and tents to pet products, using sewing patterns designed to make the most of every inch.

Nothing goes to waste: every strap, buckle, fabric panel, and piece of stuffing is upcycled into something new, with a story.

Re-discover Products

Every item in our Re-Discover lineup is built from our “bear” hands with upcycled materials and crafted to be useful, stylish, and eco-conscious.

Treeline Tent Tote

Made using upcycled tent fabric, folds into a built-in pouch for convenient carry.

Woodland Tote

Created from former Kuma chairs with upcycled handles made from pet-leash materials.

The Logger

A rugged, water-resistant carrier for firewood, with a dedicated pocket for kindling.

Re-Discover Project

Why We Did It

We teamed up with Earth Warrior to push circular design in a thoughtful way. Together, we identified materials that could be reused most efficiently, aiming for zero waste in every re-created piece.

These aren’t just recycled products, they are reimagined. By giving new life to components like fabric and hardware, we reduced landfill waste and honored the full potential of each item.

Fix-It, Don’t Replace-It

Keeps repairable gear out of landfills and in the wild. We help extend product life, reduce waste, and protect the outdoors for future generations to enjoy.

Here are some answers to common questions about the Re-Discover Project:

Can I choose the color?
Not exactly. Because we use upcycled materials, the color and pattern of each piece depends on what’s available. Each item varies, that’s part of what makes it unique.

Smaller hardware gets saved for future projects. Larger frame pieces and metal parts are recycled through our partners at General Recycling Industries in Edmonton.

All proceeds fuel the program: growing its reach, designing new items, and creating a more circular product economy.

Earth Warrior operates out of Edmonton, Alberta, and is responsible for crafting these upcycled pieces with care and craftsmanship.

Yes! If there’s an issue, reach out to our support team. Because these items are unique, we encourage re-gifting or continued use but will handle order issues as needed.
