The creation of KUMA™ was inspired by one of the most beautiful places in the world… Jasper, Alberta, Canada. It’s a place shaped by glacier-fed lakes, dense forests and rugged peaks that have long inspired exploration, from early railway lines and fur trading routes to the campers, hikers, skiers and travellers who still pass through today.
It was in this landscape that Kuma first took shape. While on camping trips, ski days and long weekends where time was spent figuring out what actually makes the outdoors better. Over and over the same thought came up: the best moments outside aren’t about having more gear, they’re about having the right gear that’s comfortable enough to make you want to stay outside longer.
From those early experiences, we set out to build something different. Gear that’s durable, thoughtfully designed, made for real use in real conditions, but always centred around comfort.
What started with a small team and a few core products has grown into what Kuma Outdoor Gear is today. Still rooted in that same idea, still inspired by the Canadian outdoors, and still focused on one thing: helping people make the most of their time outside on their adventures together.
